Which is the better match? It would seem like the 100 is, since the drivers are identical, but does anyone have an eperience that might suggest otherwise?

...and no, dual bookshelves is not an option.

Thanks

I have both the 150 and 100 and either one works very well. If you can afford the 150 feel free to get it. The differences I have been able to hear are minimal. The 150 has a little deeper tone to it at the expense of a touch of clarity and the 100 has the better clarity at lower volumes. I had to switch between the 2 many times for a long time to come up with any sort of difference. The 150 also appears to want to play louder at which time the clarity issue is gone. There is also less drop out off axis with the VP150 by 1-2 db.

Great info, thank you. I think I'll go with the 100 because oy the matching drivers... but then again, I like the idea of improved off-axis response with the 150.

anyone else care to try and rescue me?

well, did you consider a single M2 if duals are not possible? Depending on your room size, a single M2 might be all you need.

The 150 is a couple of dB more sensitive and will therefore play louder.

I haven't heard an M2 as a center but I did hear Robb's single M3 and it sounded too localized to me. It was more clear than my 150 but it sounded like sound was coming from a point source and I didn't like that. I was sitting 7 feet away from it dead centre.

I loved the M3s as bookshelves though.

you tried the M3 centre? Aren't vocals supposed to be localized to the middle of the room?

Yes, they are. But not localized to a point source. My 150 localizes them too but not to the same extent. They sound wider and taller with the 150.
