The only tweak that works is a smooth beaver on the 600.

OMG!!!! - IT'S THE REVELATION!!!!

This explains everything. I had sandblasted my ends rather than sanded and I settled for 43 degrees.

Probably a domino effect that has canceled out the benefits of my magic pebbles, pyramids and crystals.

Now, if I fix the first issue with the sanding and angle, I should then reap the other benefits that haven't seemed to work to this point.
