I've decided to buy a new system. I have auditioned the Monitor 11s.v3 with a PS-1000 sub and was very impress with the soundstage and imaging. I really want to have a try with the Axiom M80ti's but there is no retailer where I live, so I was hoping if someone had the pleasure of comparing these two speakers. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. THX!!

Where do you live? -- there are many proud Axiom owners who will be willing to show off their speakers for you. Try this thread first.

If nobody responds here, I would call, PM, or email Amie (amie@axiomaudio.com).

You're in the same province as Axiom HQ? It shouldn't be more than a 5 hour drive...

Moe, you may want to call or email the "Audioshop" in Ottawa (www.audioshop.on.ca; 613 233-2215). They used to be a brick and mortar retailer for Axiom, and may still have M80's in stock to audition. Good luck.

M80's will beat the Monitor's. I heard their entire Monitor line and was thinking of buying them. Then I heard Axiom - it was a subtle punch in the gut

Just out of curiosity, I tried maps.yahoo.com on Axiom's headquarter address, and it essentialy said: "there is no such a place in Canada." How come??? Could somebody give me a "valid" address for Axiom?

I tried the same thing. It can't find Dwight. I tried using another address in the Muskoka region to come up with that 5 hour drive time.

Yeah, when I zoomed to that level I started recognizing things. Niagra is still probably the closest I've ever been to there.

Okay tfh, now after we're finished with the party at Axiom we'll all take a little drive to Laval Street in Coquitlam to hear your setup.

Enjoy the music, not the equipment.

Hi sushi,

It's more like 175 miles. It takes me about 3 hours or a bit less from Toronto downtown and that's keeping to a steady 120 kilometers per hour (about 72 mph). Posted speeds are in stupid metric. (Thanks a lot, Pierre Trudeau). So is my speedometer because I bought the car in Canada, although there is a dim little hard-to-read ring in mph. Don't exceed the posted limits by more than 10 - 20 kph. Radar detectors are illegal (mine was seized years ago). Lots of Provincial Police cruisers on that route.

Regards,

Alan Lofft,

Hey, Alan, did you forget that I am from Japan?

US/UK is the ONLY countries on the globe that are still sticking to their own stupid, illogical, non-physics-based, and outrageously non-decimal unit systems. HAHAHA...

Hey moejr,

Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't Cornwall just east of Kingston? If so then you're probably just 2-3 hours from Toronto. I had called Axiom and was pleasantly surprised that there's a local dealer that loves them so much that he carries them. I've already auditioned the M80's there once and will be going for a 2nd audition. I'll probably listen to the M50's and M60's as well. If you're interested in a drive to Toronto, just let me know and I'll pass on the name and address of the dealer to you.
