While at work last night, I told a couple young dudes that I recently purchased some great speakers from a company called Axiom. I went on to tell them that Axiom was a manufacturer located in Canada. I was going to describe the speakers in greater detail and I was going to tell them that if they are in the market for some phenomenal gear they should give Axiom a try. But, alas, they didn't even let me finish. They rudely interrupted and informed me that they don't buy imports. They went on to inform me that they already knew who made the best ht set up in the world. And could you guess what they said. That's right, they said BOSE! Upon hearing this I proceeded to tune them out. Once you've been a father you acquire this knack. Can you believe this--BOSE. The thing that got me is they consider Canadian products imports. Some people are really primitive, I guess.

"Upon hearing this I proceeded to tune them out. Once you've been a father you acquire this knack."

That is probably the best quote i've read all week!

And about the speakers...

It's really not worth arguing, you did the exactly same thing I did. Honestly, if people are happy with Bose, I let them be. There are alot more important things to argue about than speakers, so dont waste your time. As long as you are happy with what you purchased, thats all the difference. Politely invite them over for a listen some time though. Just a very informal "told you so" =)

I owned a pair of Bose 901's for about 10 years and thought they were pretty good. That is till I went shopping for new speakers.I ended buying a pair of Def Tech's which were far better than the BOSE.Well I was'nt all that happy with the Def Tech's so I sold those and ended up buying a pair of M80's!!! Now this is one hell of a set of speakers.I don't mean for the money either,I mean great period.

littleb, twopecker's very right when he says that its really no use trying to convince others against the bulldozing abilities of Bose. I've been through this again and again and still go through it at times. People refuse to accept that my pair of $220 F.O. M3s are superior to the $1200+ speakers from Bose. I then send them links to many review sites and try to educate them. But all this only backfires on me. People think I'm justifying my purchase.

In the end, if you're happy with your M22s, that's all there is to it. Enjoy your music, revel in it and let the Bose lovers enjoy their Bose speakers.

I remember a friend owning some Bose 901's and the best thing I could say about them is they did play awfully loud.

I will say the Bose 901 will play awfully loud but It took alot of power to do it.If i remember correctly they were rated at 89db.Also there was'nt alot of detail to them. Now the M80's will play just as loud if not louder and they do'nt need much power to do so and the sound is crystal clear. Also the 901's cost $1400.00 and I got my M80's for $990.00usd through the outlet store. And believe me I checked every square inch of these speakers and ca'nt see anything wrong with them they look perfect to me. .

Um? Perhaps they *sound* much louder than they actually play, because they put out lots of distortions? hehehe...

I remember lots of volume maybe because of the room acoustics, since the speakers point in every which direction. Musical speakers the Bose 901's are not. My friend thought they were the best thing since buttered toast, all I could hear was noise, detail was severly lacking as was any semblence of bass.
