These will be in a basement that is 12 x 25 with 7.5 ceillings. I will be running them from a Yamaha 6190b. The main use will be HT, and 2 channel audio will be the secondary use. I have an SVS sub, so bass should not be an issue. I know the m60 is 8ohm and the m80 is 4ohm. The 6190 supports both 8 and 4 ohm. Will I be losing anything other then a little bass by going with the m60 over the m80? Please recommend m60 0r m80. Price is not a big issue, but saving a few bucks never hurts. Thanks.

i would just call Axioms 800 number. They recommended I get the M60's - driving them with a Sony 5300ES and my room is 13x19x10. Sound can knock the paint off the walls. They won't steer you wrong.

It becomes a personal preference at this point I found the M60s vocals to take a back seat to the music ever so slightly directly compared to the M80s. Other than that and the slightly lower/smoother bass, they are almost identical. I would never go back to the M60 after hearing the M80s and now owning.

Your room is 2250 cubic feet, which is about average, you probaly don't need the extra power handeling of the M80's (unless you want to be deaf in less than a year?).
If you are using them only for HT I think you would love the M60's. A great speaker. If however you also want to listen to 2 channel music (no sub) I would go with the M80's. The extra bass extension of the 80's (which is suble but audable, doesn't require a sub (for most music) IMO and my listening room.
Both are excellent speakers and you'll probably keep them for life. It was a tough decision for me.

I've owned both and they are both great audiophile speakers. The 80's are the top of the line right now, and the 60's are very close. The 80's are a little more detailed and go a little lower. I think most people would be hard pressed to see much difference, unless they are playing at concert levels. if you check the graphs for each on the product page you will see how similar performing they are in lab tests. My room is huge and I was totally happy with the 60's as well as my current 80's.

If Mojo had done this before I got the 80's, I would have gone with the 60's. Am I sending the 80's back for a swap? Heck no.

Curious as to why you say you would have gone with the M60s? It bothered me that there was a noticeable drop in vocals/upper FR from the M60s to my M22s which is what prompted me to get together with Mojo for a direct comparison of all the speakers we had. I found the 60s to be nearly identical to the M80s once the volume is turned up closer to the one watt(85db+)but for the lower volumes the differences were noticeable.
