I don't know if that has ever been posted here, but I discovered something interesting today. When I'm listening to music at higher level (-6db), my cat usually moves and stays in a few very specific (and very odd) places when it's not altogether hiding.

So I decided to move to those spots. The little furry ball is actually finding bass "nulls" to be less disturbed! I foresee a whole new cat-training business for professional HT installers. "I use Siamese to set surrounds levels and an Angora for the subwoofer," they would tell one another in tradeshows. ;\)

BTW, I am not kidding about my cat sleepting in "nulls"!

My dog does the same thing. It's really quite odd. I'll have the surround blaring and she'll move about 3 feet from the center channel and plop down right in front of it and cast herself into dreamland. I laid there with her once and, sure enough, the VP shoots (for the most part) right over her head, and the bass is quite quiet there, too.
