Any thoughts? I have a sample of each but my wife and i cant seem to decide. One day we like the HG Cherry. The next day we like the Boston.....Such difficult decisions. Life is tuff. Maybe it doesn't matter which one. When we get them they will sound so good we won't even notice?

I have the Boston Cherry but if the HG was available at the time that's what I would have picked. I vote HG

The HG is pretty cool, if you don't mind the reflection and glare. The HG might be harder to keep smudges off, but do look pretty awesome.

I opted for HG Cherry and I have to say, it's amazing looking! I recently had a carpenter over to drop off some desks he made me and he walked right across the loft apartment to get a closer look at the speakers. He was very impressed and thought they were real wood until he was up close. That's how wonderful they look. I got mine for no extra cost as Axiom had a deal last month. Which was funny because I had been watching the factory outlet and was going to buy a pair of Boston Cherry from there to save the extra 10%. But when I saw how awesome the HG Cherry looked on screen, I actually paid the $100 more for them. Still saved me $100 over the real price and I got a brand new pair. I'm very happy that I did that. Now of course I keep wondering if I should buy a sub now so that I can have it in that finish too. Check with Axiom to see if that deal is still available. You won't be sorry! If I had more money, I'd go for the real rosewood versions. But that's another story! Zoë

My vote is for HG Cherry, as well.

I've got Boston Cherry and couldn't be happier. High gloss just doesn't do it for me. At one point I tried applying a small amount of leather conditioner to the vinyl surface on the rear of one M80...it made the color deeper and richer while giving the surface a satin finish look. It was gorgeous! I had to do all the speakers. Everyone that sees them are surprised when I tell them they're vinyl. Shoulda kept my mouth shut!

I wish the HG finish were an option whenever I got our speaks ... I would have at least had the 80s and the sub in that finish.
Just curious if anyone would consider mixing up the finish with a 5.whatever or a 7.whatever system? I'm thinking I'd probably go with the centers being black, HG on the mains and sub with the same color but a regular vinyl finish on the surrounds.
We're quite happy with the Boston Cherry vinyl and we've had compliments by everybody who has seen them.

Hey Rick, Yes, I've thought of that, especially as I piecemeal an HT system together. I guess it would be the best to at least have the speakers that are the most visible - everything out front, for instance - be the same color. But I have a Velodyne black sub with my HG Cherry M60s on my 2.1 stereo set-up. I have considered a black center speaker for that future HT set-up. On the surrounds I'd go for something mellow like Boston Cherry or black since they won't be looked at directly. That would all save money, and not be too horrible to look at.

Rick, you can always upgrade like I did, and possibly get a great deal as well.

When they came out of the box, my wife said "They're real pretty!" That is high praise. The fit and finish is high quality. I think either finish will make you real happy. The first thing I played on the '80s was Stereophile Editor's Choice Sampler and test cd. Outstanding. Danny Boy played, and it touched my soul, bringing tears to my eyes. Regular or High Gloss, you should enjoy.

My Boston Cherry M3's shipped on Thursday and arrived on my porch 30 minutes ago. Don't know what the high gloss would look like but the ones I just opened are beautiful. Hard to tell it's not real wood. Can't wait to get them fired up.

Dire Staits Brothers in Arms zinging through them at the moment. Sounds incredible. They look great but sound even better.

Having had the Boston cherry and now the HG cherry, I would go HG cherry. Its alot nicer I think. But yes it is harder to keep looking tip top. You need to wipe them down with a microfiber once in a while.

I have Boston Cherry M22's and QS8's.....and placed my order for High Gloss cherry M3's for another room a couple weeks ago and am still waiting.
I wish the HGC was available when I ordered my BC's. They look great, but again, the Boston is nice too and all sound the same.

HG All The Way. I had Boston Cherry originally and really liked it but once HG came out I fell in love with it. It took a couple re-releases to be missed out on, but the 3rd time Axiom released it I jumped on it and couldn't be happier. Also check out DanielBme 's pics as his are great, see sample below.

It is a shame you don't get to see more of the VP150. The M60s look great in your place.

You need to improve that second picture by increasing the infinity quotient. The picture on the TV screen inside the picture on the TV screen should also show the picture of the room, etc.

My center is out in full glory on a stand I haven't finished, actually a fan box with hardwood on it. The one you're mentioning is user DanielBme. Same thing on the screen pic, DanielBme not me, but I agree

Hey HAY.. Great Pics!!! Wow your m60 looks great. Do you have any windows in your (Theater) where sunlight comes in? I am just wondering how they look with direct sunlight on them. Is the glare distracting? Does it show any imperfections in the vinyl when the sun is on it? That is the only concern I have with going for the HG over the Boston... Thanks..

Only drawback of the HG model is you have to be more patient to receive your speakers. I pulled the trigger a couple weeks ago on a full system and the anticipation is CRAZY.

Thanks, my H/T is in the bassment with 2 small windows that let in very little light. In the link I posted for DanielBme his place seems to be a condo with a huge window on the right side. As for the galre/reflections I love them. I haven't had anything distracting or affecting my tv. However, I like when I walk by and see the equipment reflecting off the speaker. It's clear enough to read what the receiver display is...
