There have been occasional reports of problems with D&M(Denon & Marantz)products, but it should be kept in mind that major manufacturers have employees assigned to monitor audio discussion boards. It's entirely possible that when they saw that this was Mike Drew the reaction was along the lines of "Everyone else has screwed Mike, now's our chance!".

OK, for those that were taking bets, the unit did finally make it to my doorstep a couple weeks ago. I did hook it up and test it, and it works just fine….as far as I can tell.
I’m peddling the damn thing. I seriously doubt I’ll ever buy another Marantz product, but if anyone here wants it, the add is at AVS.
