Ok I know that the DRS-1 has not come out yet so nobody knows how they will perform. But its hard to overlook a 1000 watt dual sub system with eq and room correction for $1,000. Especialy from another great online company like Emotiva.

Two 350's would come to $1,500 plus they would match what I already have....But the DRS-1 would save some $$$ and would match my pre-pro and amp \:\)
Some might say buy speakers from a speaker company, and amps from an amp company. All that comes to mind is A1400-8.

Life is tuff....

Here is the Preliminary info.

I've seen this and it sounds too good to be true. However, Emotiva is hitting home runs with some of their other speaker products so this one may be a winner too.

However, it's tough to know how these will sound until they're out and reviewed. 1000W doesn't mean much of anything. SPL, THD+N, frequency response, group delay...all these count when searching for a sub. Most of these specs aren't available from Emotiva which tells me that the "Summer 2008" date is at risk.

$1000, 1000W and 2 12" drivers and they only give a low FR of 20hz? SVS is doing better with the PB12-nsd @ 18hz, for $600, but specs and low end are not the whole story so only time will tell.

Hi Jason
I think low FR was actualy tested at 19hz but 18,19,20...
If I had to pick from having 2(good) calibrated subs vs 1(good) sub that goes down 1 hz lower at -3db I think I would go for two. Sense you would get better overall room response... but like you said only time will tell. \:\)

I love the way entertainment gear manufacturers announce products looooong before they are ready to be introduced so that they can seed uncertainty and doubt into new purchasers \:\) .If you can't get new customers because you don't yet have the product, there's no better way to get back at your competition than making customers delay their purchase decision.

But for an extra $200 you could get 2 of the PB12's with the extra couple of lower notes and even room response, from a proven sub company and no waiting.;\)

Jakewash claims he got the PB12NSD working totally smoothly at his place. At my place, it was thumpy in a boring kind of way. The 350v3 kicked its butt in my opinion.

Now the SVS Ultra 13...well...that's another story...

The PB12 takes a little work but it did smooth out quite a bit after some frequency range tweaking and a couple of different placements and it still has more kick to it then the EP350v3, IMO. The PB12-NSD has a bump in the FR at that 50-60hz which needs to be tamed a little and stays flat from there. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend one as long as the person doesn't mind doing some tweaking. If you just want to plug and play then I would go EP350v3.
