Welcome! So I see that this system is the M22s as mains, VP100 center, and QS8 surrounds. Do you know which subwoofer you will get?

What is your budget for the receiver? How many sources will go into it? I'm guessing that you would like HDMI switching, which is becoming the norm.

Denon makes great receivers and seems to be the #1 choice amongst the forum regulars. Other popular brands are, in no particular order, Yamaha, Onkyo, and Harman Kardan.

A lot of people here have gotten the Denon 3808 through 6th Avenue Electronics for $1098 shipped.

I think H/K is off the list recently; I haven't heard of anyone getting one of those in awhile. I'd probably go with a Yamaha; the 663 is the good one, right, Mike?

I have the 3808 and I love it.

If you are looking for something significantly cheaper this one looks to be promising:

However, for only a couple hundred dollars more the 663 could be had.

Just decide what features/inputs you need and then pick a receiver that meets those needs.

My budget for the receiver is about $700, I'll be connecting; A ps3 via hdmi, xbox 360 via component/optical, wii via component, record player via analog, hd projector via hdmi, and an upconverting dvd player via component or hdmi. As for my sub i was planning on getting something from HSU for around 700 but I'm scared it might be too loud for everything else in the system. Also I'm planning on getting the vp150 instead of the vp100.

Thanks for all the advice guys, so far i'm leaning towards the yamaha 663. Keep it coming, thanks in advance.

RE: the sub, you can always turn it down to suit you.

The Yamaha 663 seems like a good bang for the buck if you need it for the new audio formats, but you have a PS3. I don't know what else at that price point offers HDMI connectivity.

Karma, welcome. There're many receivers that'll work very well with your Axiom setup, and you should be able to stay well within your budget. An especially good deal that you might consider is the excellent Onkyo 705 with Odyssey MultEQ XT available as a factory refurb from Accessories4less for about $460 plus shipping.
