Well after buying my HGC M80's I had to find a way to keep my cats off of them. My cats don't have front claws so I don't need to worry about them sharpening their claws on the speakers. What I have to worry about is them jumping up on the speakers and clawing with their back feet in order to stop. My last speakers had scratches all over the top of them. Ever sense I got my new m80's I have not been able to figure how to keep my babies safe. So I left the boxes from my qs8's on top of the 80's to keep my cats off. Today the a light went on...... So here is my Solution..... 3/4" mdf overhanging 1" with a 1/4" chamfer on the bottom edge painted black to match the drivers. Has anyone else ever had this issue? If so how did you resolve it?(don't say get rid of the cats) Looks like it's graduating from college http://picasaweb.google.com/turboswede9/Cats/photo?authkey=JMHhJ8FBpwo#5211880712628520722http://picasaweb.google.com/turboswede9/Cats/photo?authkey=JMHhJ8FBpwo#5211881836818731906

Looks very elegant, I'm sure a lot of people will even think they came that way..
For reasons I'll never ever understand my two cats leave the M60s & EP350 alone.
It could be because they are too tired from destroying the couch.

Hunh. I haven't had this problem with any of my cats or speakers. Of course, they're generally getting up there in age (and weight, a couple of them.)
Nice job on the protectors.

Nice idea, they look like they were made that way.
I had covers made for my M80s because of a little male dog we had. He is no longer here but I still keep them covered when not in use. They look as good today as they did 5 years ago when I got them.

Thanks everyone. I forgot to mention that to keep them from sliding and damaging the 80's I used 4 medium sized clear bumpers. The kind you would find on cabinet doors. They seem to work good.

They look very nice, kinda reminds me of our cats scratching post turned upside down.
