My oldest son and I went to see Sixx:AM, From Ashes to New, Papa Roach and Five Finger Death Punch.

Great show, tons of energy and several mosh pits!

Wow, how did I miss this post? Homicidal Bob. I'm trying to picture what that would look like. You're definitely not a guns or knives kind of guy. Death by sarcasm?

Come for a visit, Fred! Drive me to a mall, and we'll just see what happens. It'll either be "Bang-bang, slice and dice, or "You, THOT, stop smiling! Your teeth look like old toenails!"

Yeah, you're right! The pain doesn't last long enough with the first two choices.

P.S. Yes, Bridge, Man, you read that correctly.

I finally got to see Rasputina in concert on October 30th in Portland, OR. While she has plenty of recent material, this tour was a celebration of her first album, Thanks for the Ether, which is now 20 years old. So the main set consisted of reworkings of all of the songs from that album. I only really like a couple of songs from that album, though, so most of my enjoyment came from the thankfully lengthy encore, which had more of the rock element present.

I figured my chances of meeting her afterward were high since she's not the biggest name out there, but when I talked to the girl at the merch table, it seemed like meeting the band was only an option if you bought the package which includes a t-shirt, the live DVD, and a poster. I already had an autographed copy of the live DVD from the website, but I didn't have the t-shirt or the poster, so I went ahead and did it.

She was really nice, asked right up front if I wanted a picture, and then when my friend was having trouble using my phone to take it, she didn't mind letting us sort it out and then let us try again. So that picture is Melora Creager, the only constant in the band (other members come and go), me, and Polly Panic, who played the other cello on this go-around. There was also a guy who played keyboards and beatboxed as a stand-in for percussion, but I didn't care enough about him to wait for him to be in the picture. Ha ha. After I got my picture and Melora was talking to the other, bigger fan (who told me while we were waiting that she'd been a fan for 20 years, so for her entire career), I didn't really know what else I would say, so we took off.

I got to see Cake in concert last night at Woodland Park Zoo in Seattle. FINALLY. They were amazing. And John McCrea is highly entertaining between songs.

Last month I got to see Garbage. I was glad to finally see them, too. The only disappointing thing is that even though they were "co-headlining" with Blondie, they performed first, so there was no encore. And people were still up and around getting food and talking pretty much the entire performance.

I went to see the Roger Waters "Us & Them" concert Sunday evening. Probably the best concert production (audio & video) along with Pink Floyd shows

I saw both shows in Edmonton on the 24th and 25th. I agree that it was a great show. I took four videos during the concert but I don't know if it would be allowed to post them here. Also Roger is somewhat political and some of our friends on here might not appreciate some of the videos.

There are a quite a few videos on YouTube including a full concert which is not bad quality. I don't pay too much attention to Roger's political rants. I get tired of all the actors/artists in the media that use success as a platform to voice their opinions. Otherwise, the sound at Rogers Arena (Vancouver) was probably the best concert production experience ever. I am sure it was the same in Edmonton.

Saw the mighty King Crimson in concert at The Paramount and The Beacon Theatre...the three drummer setup up front, and the band in the back on risers...the fabulous Gavin Harrison played a fantastic solo in the middle of 21st Century Schizoid Man. The riff in that song totally kicked ass, heavy and loud! Great to see them in top form once again. Mel Collins, Jakko Jaczyk, Tony Levin also highlighted the superb band. Great setlists both nights with things moved around a bit for variety.
