Sorry everyone about this but I turning into a turnip that just fell off the truck. I am still trying this posting of pics in a thread for hours. I tried to follow Jackwashs advice but as I'm now an offical class 1 Grade A turnip I don't know what to do. The following is what I can possiby cut and paste from picasaweb for a picture. Can I use any of this, I've tried different combos but I just don't know what to do now. Sorry

Try a different pic host like Photobucket. From there it is a simple copy and paste.

You're welcome. Very nice pic, I love the high gloss finish Axiom now offers. I wish it were available 5 years ago.

Hit the [Switch to Full Reply Screen] button and third from the left you'll see an icon that looks like a sheet of dog-eared paper with a circle, square, and triangle. Hover over it and the tooltip will say "Enter an image". Click this and you'll get a dialog box asking for a URL. Enter one and it'll paste something like this:

 Code:
   [img]http://www.axiomaudio.com/boards/gallery/15/thumbs/95.jpg[/img]

You can also just enter the BBCode tag like that directly.

Thanks everyone for the help. One thing about the HG is they beautiful to look at, sound great, but you can't touch them without clean gloves on. It's a small cross I have to bare.

(I know, I did the quotes wrong...)

I would think that your next project would actually be going big screen with that TV.

Very nice set. Those high gloss are sexy, aren't they? The Georgian window/alcove makes a perfect stage, doesn't it?

I'm still undecided at the moment between the Pioneer Elite 60" plasma or a projection. I hope it doesn't take me too long to decide like the speaker choice took me. Plus an audio rack. The problem with getting nice speakers is I have to upgrade.

I'm glad someone is paying attention, I don't seem to be. I'm still in a fog about being able to post a picture on a thread.

Dave,

I just posted in the other thread...I didn't think HG cherry had that much grain...so that explains that! We need about 15 more pictures to study this HG rosewood close up...hmmm

Onn, what stain did you get?

The Pioneer's are great. It looks like you've got quite a bit of ambient light in that room. Think twice before you do a projector set up. It can get a bit cumbersome in a room that is multi-functional. You'll be plenty satisfied with 60".

Also, take a look at some of the "lesser" brands these days too. While there was a time when my plasma recommendations started and ended with Pioneer, the technology is maturing, and great deals can be had on Panasonic, Samsung, Sony, etc. that will hurt your pocket book a little less.

I went with a natural HG Rosewood. I didn't want to colorize it. In regards to the plasma vs projection, I'm wondering about getting blackout screens for this area (still undecided). Right now I'm just enjoying the speakers, the TV is a mute point right now

The speakers look beautiful. I agree with Rob that we need some more pictures including closeups.

Perhaps turning up the volume will help. j/k

Black out curtains should work. But they can destroy the aesthetic of a room and can be cumbersome to open/close, open/close anytime you want to watch the news. Likely, you'll keep them closed more often than not, leaving your room feeling like a bat-cave of sorts.

PJ's are really cool for big pictures. But they are not the best for picture fidelity. Too many outside influences affect the image. Light being just one problem. When you jump up to 100" or so, DVDs can look a little soft and analog TV becomes very washed out (especially if there is any ambient light in the room). PJs are just not very practical viewing. They can't be beat for movie night and "event" tv (Lost in HD rocks like a night at the movies on 100" PJ Screen), but I bet that most of your viewing will be of the "casual" sort (Simpsons or the news on in the background while you cook dinner, or some dumb sit-com or reality show).

You'd be surprised just how damned big a 60" screen is. If your current TV is 27 inches, a 60" TV will be more than 4 times as big as that. 60" would feel like a monolith in the middle of that space.

I have the 60" Pioneer plasma also, not only is the picture probably the best I've seen, but a 60" plasma is huge!

I'm used to my 60" TV now. I'm slowly getting ready for a projector. I bet I'll have one within two years.

Eventually I would love to have a projector as well as a dedicated HT, the layout of my house won't allow it, but we do have a 1000sq ft rectangular garage that could be partially turned into a theater. But of course that means I'd have to clean out the garage, not a project I'm planning on anytime soon. \:\)

Understandable. There's a lot of work to be done before I get a projector, too, and I may never have the dedicated home theater/listening room that I want, but I'll do what I can. Still, it will probably be 2 years or so before everything comes together. Then again, knowing my impatience, maybe sooner. I mean, I really want to rub it in the faces of other forum members. I can't think of better motivation.

You could always move in with a girl who has a basement, projector, and screen, and is only lacking the speakers, electronics, and a lover.
