 ep 500 driver?

I have and ep500 and I think I may have had a bad one from the start, but not for sure. I noticed a long time ago that I had a vibrating noise, but I thought it was the room or something else, but lately I took off the grill and as I played a test tone through it I heard the banging noise or clacking noise. I then put my finger on the rubber outer ring and that fixed the noise and made the subwoofer sound better. I have noticed it had always kinda sounded muddy a little, but since this was my first subwoofer I thought it was normal. Anyway, I was wondering what does it cost to have that fixed or replaced? That is if I am not doing anything wrong. Thanks

Have you checked all the screws around the driver to make sure they are tight?

yes, I checked all the screws. I even took the driver out and reset it into the box again, but I noticed that the only way the noise disappeared was when I touched the outer rubber gasket on the driver itself. That caused the vibation noise to go away and made the sub sound much smoother. So I suspect that the driver was bad. Now I am in no way qualified to make that statement.

Hmm, I'd give Axiom a call and see what they suggest.
Hopefully it's an easy fix for you!

So do you guys think this is an actual bad driver. If it is I wonder what I have been missing in my movies because of it?

OK WOW!!!! I just talked to axiom and in about 3 seconds he said sounds like a bad driver. Sending a new one too me. I will definitely be buying all my speakers from axiom. Amazing support!!!
