And where did you hear that? Just rumors I say.

It's YOU! Yah, I plan on doing the M22 on top of the M60 trick. If it sounds like hell I only have you to blame. ;\)

That aside, don't feel bad about getting M60s, I own two pairs and I always say that I can't imagine anything sounding better than they do. I'm sure the 80s may be a bit better but it is all relative to what you are used to. The 60s will BLOW YOU AWAY. Errr maybe I should not put it quiet that way, considering your profession.... Thank you for what you do though!

I've thought about that. I know if I choose the "germany" selection its almost 900 euro. Thats alot of dollars. I could have em sent to my rents then have them ship it to a german address but the shipping is gonna be horrid. I think M82s will be glorious enough. I MIGHT not be getting that car because they are asking too much so i might have even more money to waste ;\) The m60s will blow me away? I hope so. I'll be upgrading from m22s/m2/vp100/hsu 250watt sub so I wonder how much of a bump it will give me. Maybe a lil more BOOM in my music? \:\)

Hmm, I didn't notice you already have M22s mains and a decent sub. From what I have read about M22's you might not be 'Blown Away' fidelity wise by the upgrade as that's already a top notch combo but they will give you a similarly awesome experience and keep doing it louder, if needed. The M60s can go a bit lower in the bass realm too but if your sending this to the sub anyways...

Someone who has heard can fill you in better than I. I just know that the M60s will not disappoint in any way whatsoever.

With great power comes Awesome irresponsibility.

I am one of the very few that was in fact disappointed with the M60s which is where the M82 came in and then my subsequent M80 purchase.

Jake, did you move from the m22 to the m60? If so how would explain the difference?

When I did an a/b comparison at Axiom, I heard very little difference between the M22+ sub and the M60. Yes, the sub delivered more bass, but the mids and highs were almost identical. In fact, I noticed more difference between the M80 and M22 on the mids/highs.

The M22 was quite forward compared to the M80. Strangely, the M60 does not sound forward compared to the M80 or recessed compared to the M22. Never quite understood that.

I found the M80 had more detail in the highs than either the M22 or M60. What you get with an M82, I don't know.

Yes, I went from M22 to M60, then to M80. The M60 just seemed to be lacking vocal strength at lower volumes and Mojo even noticed the difference as well. When we switched back and forth from the M80s to M22 to M60 they all had a very different sonic signature, none of which was bad, just different.

The M22s do sound thin compared to the floor standers to me, even with a sub I could tell the difference and the overall sound of the M22/sub was thinner, less warm, possibly just that much more accurate and clean? To me, the M60 doesn't produce the same vocal forwardness that the M22s d0, it is especially noticeable at lower volumes, say below 75 db. Having said that I notice no thiness with the M22s in my bright living room, possibly better placement?

It just comes down to a personal preferance and expectations. My wife and I noticed right away that the M60 didn't have the same forward sound of the M22 and we really didn't appreciate it as much. I hung onto the M60s for a little bit longer and found it harder to notice the difference once I moved the M22s into another room and I even started to really like the M60s on their own and thought about keeping them, at least until the M80s arrived.

Thank you both very much. Ofcourse the million dollar question...is it worth getting the M60s? Is the M82 a practical answer? I dont know... I'm wondering if I just have a case of "upgradetitus". I've always been really happy with the sound....but with the promise of even bigger and better...mmmm but I dont even have the need for something the size of a floorstander. Maybe I'm better off upgrading my tv, receiver, or surrounds? If I was smart I would do the wait and see thing. Ofcourse being in Iraq doesnt leave you much time to do much besides go out on mission, sleep, and dream about what I wanna do when I get home. (spend my money ;\) ) Having money in your pocket with nothing to spend it on is much more painful than one might imagine... haha

I didn't need floorstanders nor have room for them either, just always wanted some and am very glad I did get them although it forced me into buying a much, much better subwoofer.....the old one just couldn't keep up with the M80s.

Yeah, I didn't need floorstanders either. I just loved the sound of the 80s.
