hey guys,

I need a TV stand for my new TV arriving soon, I need enough room to accommodate at least a PS3, HD DVD player (my upscaling DVD player), the UPA-7 Amp from Emotiva (17" wide, 7.75" high, and 19" deep), and some other random AV reciever/pre/pro that I haven't decided on yet.

I want it to be around 45" wide, 24" deep (or so), and no more than 19" high (WAF, dont ask).

The hardest option would be for me to make my own stand (flexy), but I really don't have the time or the energy right now for a DIY project.

any takers? I would prefer a <$100 price point.

thanks!!

-Robb.

So you have already ordered the Emotiva?

And BTW, you need to update your location now.

Robb,

We have this TV stand for $179:

http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/70115187

It is not quite as deep as you would like, but maybe a little customization could do the job? It holds a standard piece of equipment (my Onkyo 605) very comfortably down below on the shelves, as well as has room for my 360, PS3, 50" Sony and M22's on the top of it. It's quite wide, but it's low enough for your tastes, and with plenty of room for components up and down, and with M80's you will have even more room on top for a bigger TV.

I guess another question I have is if I had 1" thick plywood, or some other type of wood (from a 4 x 8 sheet), would I need to support the middle when its 45" x 24"? That is one of the things stopping me from making the flexy...is that I only want to do all 4 corners, and I don't want to add any support in the middle (laziness)...

I think you would need some type of support or reinforcement to prevent sagging.
