Moderna. 18 hours of fever and headache. I wrote a few poems while hallucinating.

Pfizer. Had neck and shoulder pain. Certain foods taste acrid now. I can't eat any tortilla chips or Doritos they all taste burnt. I can't distinguish flavors in red wine, tastes like charcoal.

I had no idea that can happen. Perhaps it's only temporary.

From what I've read online it was more common with people who lost their sense of taste and smell and when they started to recover from that they had a similar effect with certain foods. Some said it took 6-8 months before things returned to normal so I am hopeful by the end of the year maybe everything will taste normal to me again.

Sounds like you were unlucky with Pfizer ...
I also only had some shoulder pain and it was not the bad for either shot.

The overall shots were mild discomfort and this taste issue is mostly a mild inconvenience... as long as it eventually subsides.

I got my second dose of Moderna on Tuesday morning. No appreciable symptoms until almost a full day later. Extreme fatigue and whole body soreness lasting through right now. Hopefully it's completely gone this weekend. I called in sick two days in a row because I think it would have been miserable trying to work through it. My sister also got the Moderna and had nothing but the arm soreness where the shots were administered.

I could taste red wine last night for the first time in 6 weeks. I'm hoping that's a sign my taste is returning to normal.
