I'm watching my bank account slowly dwindle away to nothing. I hate home renovations

I've been blowing through seasons 4-7 of Just Shoot Me, since it's been forever since I've seen them. I'm getting toward the end of season 6. I started buying them on disc as soon as they came out. Seasons 1 and 2 came out in a box set together, and then there were no releases for a long time. Season 3 eventually came out, but there must not be any interest, since it's been quite a while since that release as well, and it seems dead in the water. I'm resorting to watching the rest of the series on a shady website. You'd think they would at least put the remaining seasons on a legitimate streaming site or two.

There was some shaky writing at the beginning, but it got really good, and I think it's a shame it never got more respect.

I've also been trying out episodes of Nathan For You on the recommendation of a friend. It's not bad. I like the guy's demeanor well enough.

Watched About a Boy again last night since a friend hadn't seen it, and I'd been wanting to watch it again. It holds up.

Tonight will be more Game of Thrones. A friend has been coming over to watch episodes every Sunday (except last Sunday when she had to cancel), and we're about halfway through season 2. She gets pretty emotionally invested in her entertainment, so it's funny to see and hear her reactions.

Man Seeking Woman

Worth watching. It was better than I was expecting, which I'm happy about. Jay Baruchel deserves another good show. It's been too long since Undeclared. There are a lot of comic actors you'll recognize doing bit parts in it.

Finally working my way through Workaholics. Sean doesn't live there anymore, but it's nice to see Rancho Cucamonga get some love. I tried the first few episodes a long time ago, but it didn't grab me. However, this second time around, after being exposed to all of the main actors in other work (The Mindy Project, Parks and Recreation, Modern Family, Eastbound & Down), I was more receptive. I'm glad I gave it a second go, because there's a whole lot of good material once you commit. It's the kind of writing I only wish I could do.

Also tried a few episodes of Garfunkel and Oates, but I'm not sure if I'll stick with it or not.

I couldn't get into The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt despite liking that main actress a lot. I was also really bored during the 2 or 3 episodes of Bloodline that I watched. I heard the last several episodes redeem it, but I'm not sure I want to watch so many more episodes of me yawning before the payoff. I may eventually, just because I really like Kyle Chandler and Linda Cardellini.

Half the fun of living in Rancho Cucamonga is getting to say "Rancho Cucamonga" out loud and watching out-of-towners' eyes light up.

Stephen Chow's Forbidden City Cop still makes me happy. I paid a premium to get it on Blu-ray, and while it's not a showcase for restoration, it's significantly better than the DVD. I was surprised by how much LFE is present. His material always takes things to comic book proportions, so it doesn't feel out of place. It's just not something I would have expected. The scene where he's spinning the fan blades above his head may be the most intense LFE I've encountered.

It's one of my favorite Stephen Chow movies. Besides his trademark sense of humor, his character has a wife in this one, which gives it a different feel from his other work. Their interactions still make me laugh. If you liked Shaolin Soccer and/or Kung Fu Hustle, you should definitely check out some of his earlier stuff, with this one being at the top of the list.

I'm trying Mr. Selfridge, but I'm a few episodes in, and it's not really doing anything for me so far.

Harmontown was a decent look into the life of Dan Harmon, creator of Community. I didn't realize he was one of the people behind Heat Vision & Jack, as well as The Sarah Silverman Program. Shows how closely I pay attention.

I'm caught up with Workaholics. Glad the new season of Louie kicked off. I still need to watch the premiere of Childrens Hospital. I feel like I'm forgetting to watch other stuff, too.

Hey CV, did you catch Journey to the west yet? Liked that one. Very cool storyline unlike any movie I've seen. keeping with the sense of humour and larger than life entertainment.

Yes, loved that one. I was a bit unsure when Stephen Chow wasn't acting in it, but the main guy does well enough, and Qi Shu was wonderful. I really liked her in Jackie Chan's Gorgeous, so it was nice to see her in something else. Something better than The Transporter. Ha ha.
