I'm sorry if this is not allowed... but I'm going to try it anyway. I'm wondering if anyone has used alternative stands for the qs8s. I absolutely have to use stands but find the ones here on Axiom to be a bit pricey. Does anyone know where I can get a cheaper set of stands? Obviously the bottom needs to be open to accommodate this speaker. Thanks

I would be looking for speaker stands like this that keep the QS open to the bottom as you stated. Unfortunately many stands are not rated for the weight of the QS8s. I also found another set that has a good picture of the adjustable 'L' bracket. Goodluck.

I’m not sure if anyone else can find it but awhile back someone posted pictures of DIY stands they made for their QS speakers. They really looked fantastic. So one option if you want to do a little woodworking you could make your own.

As jakewash says make sure what you use can hold their weight and is bottom weighted enough not to topple over.

Undoubtedly yes, John.

Majik, as you can see, anything that works is allowed.

Majik - just to ask an obvious question, have you tried the T-wall brackets they come with and ruled them out? I find they work very well in my room (as long as you have the wall space to accommodate).

EDIT: Nevermind, I see from your posts in another thread you don't have a wall option where you're planning on putting the QS8s.

I've got to figure something out soon. I plan on paying the rest of my layaway plan soon. I looked at a bunch of stands but nothing looks sturdy enough. Looks like I'm going to be stuck buying the ones found here. 400 bucks for stands though...

I love John's idea using soup cans.

John,

I prefer chicken soup, it absorbs low end frequency's to act like bass traps, but to each his own! ;\)

I've heard cream of chicken does a little better, it is more dense.
