I belive the pair would be better. Though getting one first would probably be smarter. Then if you felt you wanted more ooompf you could buy a second one.

i suggest emailing SVS about what you should do. Like axiom they have great customer service and are honest. they told me go with one 25-31 for my 12x15 room. On their website they also suggest getting only one for smaller rooms
