Get the big 50 incher Rick. You know you want it. Then I'll have a good excuse to road trip south to watch the Superbowl on that bad boy. ;\) By the way, glad to hear there has been some resolution to your television nightmare. Enjoy what ever set you choose.

Thanks Mark, I'm sure glad the wife insisted on the extended warranty. That's probably the best $120 I have ever spent.

Rick, if you have a Costco around you, I just got a Panasonic 46" Plasma 1080p for $949, and Costco extends the warranty for 2 years automatically. If not drive over here to Des Moines and I'll go with you to get one. The picture is the best I've seen. If you read the reviews, consumer reports, etc. Panny's are at the top. Samsung was a close second for me, but the Panny's 460hz subfield, picture, and price clinched the deal.

The same TV at Sears, Best Buy, Onecall, etc. under a different part number is 1200-1300...

The picture is killer over the air in high def...46" is huge in our 15 x 20 living room.

Rick, definitely go bigger, I'm about 9 feet away from our 60 inch, my first thoughts were Jeez that thing is huge, But after a couple movies the whole familily is happy we went with the bigger set.

Randy, I would but it is an in store credit as far as I can tell. The store is billing GE for the purchase, not me. With what they carry this Sammy seems like the best deal imo.

Will do Michael, will do.

Randy makes a good point. Panasonic plasmas are tough to beat. The 46" 1080p is a very nice unit. If you want at least 50", go for the 720p Panasonic.

Bestbuy has it for $999.00.

Costco has the same tv(different model number) in their store for a similar price.

Oops you posted while I was replying. What store did you purchase the Sharp from?
