I watched Afro Samurai: Resurrection last night. It's a pretty movie, and the audio is a lot of fun (plenty of material for the subs). It's too bad the writing is so bad. I forgot how annoying the guy is who follows Afro Samurai around everywhere. I think he's supposed to be funny, but they missed the mark by more than a johnson.

For some, that could be a wide margin, for others. . .meh.

The laughter increases as the margin shrinks.

City of Ember

Weak writing, poor production values, but at least there were some house-shaking moments.

I watched the latest episode of BSG last night. OMG. That was a shot from left field.

It's really too bad that show doesn't get the press it should. It's like the Arrested Development of sci fi, and drama for that matter.

I liked it. Enough falls flat that it's not a gem, but enough succeeds that I found it worthwhile.

My wife choose "Death Race" from the list of PfV movies on the dish. She seemed convinced that her friends told her it was good. I started to explain to her what kind of movie it was but then thought it would be more fun to let her find out for herself.
Actually, it was entertaining enough for a snowy Sunday afternoon but I won't recommend it for anything but hangover days and snowed in viewing.

With great power comes Awesome irresponsibility.

Cesar, I watched the latest BSG last night as well. The previous episode (that ended in a cliffhanger) was so intense that it got my adrenaline pumping and I was shaking a bit. This episode was no less intense.

I'd think Adama was a ruthless dictator if I didn't admire the character so much. (And, I think the writers are quite aware of that duality....)
