Can anyone recommend a good SPL Meter and Test Tones DVD Bundle? Or if I should get them seperate that's fine too. I was over at the SVS site and they have the AviaII Guide to HT setup which includes a radio shack SPL meter and a test tones dvd. Does anyone have any comments regarding this bundle or any other one they want to recommend?

I would just get a meter from RadioShack and use your receivers built in test noise to calibate your speakers. If later you want to tweak your video, confirm polarity, phase, etc. then get an AVIA or DVE disks. I have found I never use my Avia II DVD.

Where do you live? I know in Canada it is hard to find SPL meters in certain areas. The ones from SVS/Sonic Boom(Canada website) will work just fine.

I live in CT.

I guess I will visit my local radioshack this weekend.

I am not sure if SVS charges for shipping but if you can find one locally then do that, if not, ordering one from SVS is a great option.

Music stores (musical instrument stores) often have sound meters. Just an option if you can't find the always quoted Radio Shack version.

If you're in the US, just hit up Rat Shack. \:\)

You can also download test tones from several places for free. Google Real Traps test tones and you'll find a zip file with dozens of tones you can download as well to test volumes at difference frequencies.
