Anybody know how to add a device/activity that is not listed on Harmony's software? I'm trying to add a 5x1 remote controlled HDMI switcher but cannot find where or how to add it.

Apparently phone support is no longer available after 60 days past initial setup.

I think you name it as is, and if it doesn't recognize it, it'll ask you to do the remote to remote thing. That's what it looked like it wanted to do when I added my Roku Netflix Player the other night, until I found something close enough.

That must be new. I got phone help in December when setting up the new XBR6 for an 880 years old.

Ken on the 'add device page' where it list the device to be added in the pull down -select device to add- it list several different devices to add and then it goes on to the manufacturer and model numbers, an HDMI switcher is not listed, what did you do from there? I don't see a place to add an unlisted device.

Yessir Doug, I just called the 1-866-291-1505 support number and the recording states products setup past 60 days do not get phone support.

I believe I found it Ken, I entered 'Light Controller' as the device being added and 'manufacturer not listed' ... whenever I entered Monoprice as the manufacturer and HDX-501 as the model for the light controller an 'Audio-Video Switcher' popped up in place of 'Light Controller' as the device.

I believe we're in business.

Thanks Ken!

Oh, good. I'm not sure what exactly I was talking about; I've never had to add a device not listed. But it looked like while I was adding my last one that it was possible to just create a new device somehow.

I was also thinking there was a space for devices not listed but I sure couldn't find one this go around, it did indeed load the switcher as a device and everything is functioning smooth as silk, even has a little picture of an audio-video switcher.

I guess as long as you enter the manufacturer and model number you can randomly choose any of the devices from the drop down menu and it will recognize your particular device in place of the selected device from the menu.
