I watched Quantum of Solace tonight on BR and also really enjoyed it.

A computer once beat me at chess, but it was no match for me at kick boxing.

I was surprised to see Quantum of Solace get a 5.0 rating on Blu-ray.com after so many ho-hum reviews. And if you missed Maddox's review of the movie:

Quantum of Solace is a shiptile [sic]

I should note that he uses very colorful language.

I was a big Duke fan in the mid-80s, in the very early part of Coach K's reign. Dawkins, Alarie, Bilas, Amaker, etc ...

I graduated high school in 1986 and got into Duke and Notre Dame, visited both places, and was put off by the Dookies and welcomed warmly by the Irish, so I'm a Notre Dame alum now.

They now have our previous Athletic Director, Kevin White, who signed Charlie Weis to that long-term contract with the horrific buy-out. Good riddance. He can do to Duke basketball what he did to ND football...

No surprise there......they put off everybody. Every Tarheel I know is especially fond of.....Henderson.

Nick & Norah's Infinite Playlist

I like Michael Cera and Kat Dennings, and it's always nice to see Jay Baruchel get work, but the overall tone of the movie didn't really work for me. It's probably a sign that I'm getting old, since I wanted to tell the teenagers to stop acting like dweebs.

My latest Amazon order arrived yesterday, and last night I watched Stevie Ray Vaughan Live at the El Mocambo and Heart - Alive in Seattle.

I could go on and on about the SRV show, but I'll just say that in one viewing it became one of the "desert island" must-haves. Perfect sound. No. Perfect video? Not really. Doesn't take anything away from a stunning performance.

Heart was really enjoyable too. I've always liked their stuff and I've seen them live a couple of times. I bought the DVD because I remembered being really impressed with them while watching the VH1 Honors program. Last summer? No matter.

Their performances of a couple of Zepplin tunes was really great. Good production with terrific video and very well done DTS sound.

Every Friday night should be so good. \:\)

Body of Lies

I liked it all right, despite the Russell Crowe/Ridley Scott combination. (What's up with the upcoming Robin Hood movie with Russell Crowe playing him? Shouldn't he be Friar Tuck?) Golshifteh Farahani is beautiful, so that was nice.
