Curious on this. I live in snohomish county an hour north of Seattle. This is one of a few on my sub list i'm checking out in the 600-700 range.

Welcome to the board, SB, from a fellow Washingtonian. I'm in the wrong part of Washington, and I don't own a 350, but I hope you find an audition. The new v3 EP350 seems to get plenty of positive comments.

If I did live in Washington, I'd be a little cautious inviting someone with that name into my home to listen to my twin 350's, just kidding. \:\)

Most people either think I'm a Dr. or some crazy person based on my name.

Congratulations on the new nickname, Dr. Crazy!

So sirquack how do you like the 350's and what version are they? I'm looking to buy the V3 ones with the 300 watt amp in them probably from the outlet store for 685. What's your take on them? do they do well with movies on the low end? i'm sure they do well with music too. I like the daisychain output on them. better than a Y adapter.

I currently own 2 350v3's and an EP600. The new 350 blows away the previous 350 from a few years ago, totally new design, new amp. Great for music and theater in my opinion. Here is a link to a review from Alan back when they introduced the new design.

Based on the specs, it can achieve frequencies down into the high teens "in room", however, understand this is not at full output. At some point all subs begin to fall off. It WILL stay within a +/- 3db tollerance from 28-150hz. A lot depends on your room, placement, etc. on what you will achieve, this is true with any sub. Also, understand you can't 'hear' frequencies that low anyway.

Anechoic Resp. +/- 3dB 28 - 150 Hz
Room Resp. + 3dB/- 9dB 18 - 150 Hz

I think the reason they mention -9db is the lowest level where you still hear a contrubution. I am [relatively] flat until about 21db and then output drops sharply.

I do not know if you can feel the bass at -9db from reference.

Fred, not applicable to subsonic frequencies, but it's worth noting that at p.392 of "Sound Reproduction" Dr. Toole discusses the great importance bass extension has shown in blind evaluations of speaker preference. The tests showed a maximum correlation between the listener ratings and the low-frequency cutoff when a -10dB level was considered.

Enjoy the music, not the equipment.
