When will Axiom build and sell a real sub-woofer? i.e. Very large, very powerful(500+watts), and can produce frequency's acurately down around 20hz, or even 16hz?
I will buy it! I don't care how much it costs!!

The lowest note on a grand piano is 28hz. The only musical info below that would be the big pipe of a organ. How many of us care to listen to organ music? How much bass you need is dependant on the size of your room...for most of us anything below 28hz would be overload. Even VERY large rooms have a hard time handling frequencies below 20hz. More bass does not mean better bass.

Bigger is better, at 28hz and lower.

I sense a fun challenge brewing here. Though a sub like this would be of little value in a standard sized room with normal amplifier power, it would still be a great thing to have available for all of us who want to go way out there in accomplishing the entire frequency range with no drop off in the lower end, at very high volume levels. The trick is to do all this without any coloration or distortion being introduced to just create the feeling that it has been accomplished. We have a few designs kicking around the lab for just such a sub. I will have to see about getting these turned into a product.

Electronic instruments, synthesizers in particular, can and do often get down into the low-to-mid 20Hz range. Even an M80 reviewer played back a recording I enjoy, Genesis - Squonk, for his review specifically noting the low end. My current sub is solid but only down to around 25Hz (I can sense it struggling at times).

Ian - I'd buy a super sub design from Axiom!

Me too...IF it outperforms my Paradigm Servo-15...not necessarily lower bass, but louder bass at lower frequencies.

a lot of movie sound effects go in the lower 20's, you simply feel it rather than hear it.

30" sub-bass driver (YES 30 INCHES!) flat to 16hz.
Rembember the opening scene of the movie BACK TO THE FURTURE? LOL.

If the price was right, I'd buy a 18 incher by Axiom that went down to 16-15 hz... I wouldn;t mind having my pants shake to some party beats

axiom does need a real sub considering that the m80 dips lower than their biggest sub.

i guess for now svs and hsu will do the trick
