Ed, the same described advantages apply regardless of whether it's 5.1 or 2.1.

I expreimented last night with adjusting all to small and if made in diffence when listening to music. Switched mode on reciever to direct , 2 channel ,PL II etc. I going to listen tonight in DVD mode and see if it makes a difference. I will also try keeping the M-60 to large and my center and surrounds to small to compare. Stilling deal with optimal placment of sub as well. Currently, its between L front and RPTV. I'll try the corner suggestion again too.
