To anyone with an iphone, what are your favorite apps? I got one 2 days ago and am looking for cool stuff.

So far my fav. is the Pandora radio app.

No sweat. I've had one from the first day, so if there's a specific type of app you're looking for, post your question. I've probably downloaded it at some point.

For the video people. I've been using Video Monkey to shrink vids to fit on the iPhone. Yes, the PQ is lower quality but I can fit 2 hr movies in to a file size just under 200MB. That allows me to put a lot of movies onto 16GB of space. W/ the small iphone screen size, it's a compromise I can live with.

Unfortunately, it's Mac only. I'm sure there's other ones on the PC but this has a cool feature I like. A slider that you adjust, showing you output file size. Then you can encode as you like.

I think i used blaze media pro before when I was shrinking movies/ changing formats for my zune.

I have the 8gb iphone and could still go back to the store and swap it our for the 16gb but I have to pay a 10% restocking fee ($20) plus the extra $100. I have no plans on saving videos onto the iphone (never really used this feature on my zune) and will probably only store a few albums here and there since there are internet radio apps. given this info do you think the 8 gb will be sufficient? Most apps are pretty small in size it seems, so I guess it just comes down to how much music I really want to put on it?

Apps:

DoBot ToDos (rarely use it)
Amazon.com (use it *all* the time)
Sportacular (during Football season, I use it a lot)
G-Spot (rarely use it)
Level (surprisingly useful)
GPS Kit (rarely use it)
Pandora (Fantastic)
Public Radio (Fantastic)
CubeCheater (solves Rubik's Cubes - amazing demo of iphone + math = winner)
Shazam (Not really useful, but fun for showing off an iphone)

Games:
Spore (fun, but it gets old quickly)
Enigmo (great little game)
iShoot (nice little time waster)
Sol Free (it's solitaire, nuff' said)
Lux Touch (sort of like Risk)
S.deadbeef (side-scroller shooter)
FieldRunners (tower defense)
Topple (like Tetris, but better)
FlightControl <--- Most addictive game yet for the iPhone, I think. My current time-waster du jour. \:\)

I've downloaded many more over the past couple of years, but these have found permanent residence on my iPhone. And yes, I love my iPhone (both of them, my wife now uses my old v1 8GB). I've had dozens of PDA's and PDA-phones, from the original Palm Pilot, Psion's, Sony Palm's, PPC2000, PPC2002, WindowsMobile, Zaurus Linux, Tero's, Blackberry's, Nokia's, etc. All had +'s and -'s. But the iPhone is, by a long shot, the best of the bunch.

Ha! \:D Indeed. I should have thought about that before posting - with how this group operates. A terrible name for an application.

If you are the more adventurous type, I would highly recommend jailbreaking your phone in order to get full functionality. This is neither illegal nor difficult, and it definitely adds a great deal of options to your iPhone. Especially if you like customizing the GUI, ringtones, etc.
