Those sound awesome. I don't think I can rationalize it (hell, I couldn't rationalize a UPA-2), but if I ever do find myself with an extra $1K or so, I may well give Klaus a call.

And, given my prior history, if you believe that, I've got a bridge to sell you...

Yea Ajax, I look back on it now and laugh. It's funny now, I can't believe all the crap, and waiting, and waiting, going without an amp for around 3 months. Man, I was irritable as hell for awhile!

My wife heard it all too, she's just praying these monos don't break. \:\) I don't know who's she's more frustrated with, Emo for putting me in a bad mood for 3 months or Odyssey for decapitating my nuts. \:\)

I'll get some pics up soon. I have them on the floor right as they are too heavy for a 1/4" glass shelf. I already have a 3/8" glass shelf made, just have to install it, but some braces in and set the monos on it. Pics will come...

As long as they don't denutitate your caps and put them in protected mode you should be good to go. ;\)

I'm glad it worked out in the end. I bet Emotiva discontinued those amps because of problems.

Wow, I think I just re-lived a dream from my past. \:\) I agree about Emo's CS, they did try to get things working for me, and in the end Lonnie did refund my money many months later. Axiom has been around a long time. Yeah they have a few bumps in the road, but have a very good track record.

It was simple for me, most AVR's on the market can drive 80's to very loud levels, but Emo monoblocks kept shutting down, something is wrong and it was not the speakers.

Lonnie has had probably 10+ people in recent years that have had issues driving the 80's, as well as other brands like Rockets, it is always the speaker designs fault. Just look at the graphs Lonnie, or (mad scientest) here on Axiom. The 80's don't fall below 4ohms, and only come close at a small FR.

Anyway, DD, I've very happy for you. Wish I would have know you were looking at Odyssey, as I'm considering selling mine to save up for the Axiom 2-channel digital amps. Not because the Odysseys aren't awesome, they are probably the best amps I'll ever own, but I'm just curious about all the buzz on the Axiom amps. \:\) I could have made you a sweet deal, with 18yrs on the warranty left.

glad your happy though..

That's what I was thinking (of course). They only had the RPA-2 up for sale for 2 or 3 months after a year of pre-release hype. To discontinue an item THAT quickly...never seen a company do that before.

That thought did go thru my head Randy. I had read that you were thinking of selling your monos. I'm so freakin gun-shy and have such bad luck with my audio gear I doubt I would ever buy used.

Heck, lately I've been cautious about buying new. \:\) If these mono's hold up for awhile, I'm sure that feeling will pass.

One question I was going to ask you. I don't think I could ever find your initial review/reaction when you first got your monos from Klaus. Did you ever post a review of them Randy? just curious...

Odyssey has a 20 yr "transferrable" warranty for upto 2 buyers. So you would have been covered by the warranty...no big deal, glad you like yours..

Here are some pics of mine..

Ken, I know you asked Randy, but I'm gonna answer anyway!

MIne amp runs warm. You can comfortably put your hand on top. I've run it hard watching movies. Used to have it hooked up in my HT and it never got boiling or anything.

I should note that mine is just a Khartago stereo amp and not a Stratos in a Khartago case. May make a difference. The Khartagos vent from the top while the regular Stratos have the vents on the side.
