Looking to get a sub to complete my setup. I have the m80's, vp150 and qx8's. Im looking for a sub that is TIGHT for music on a good listening level. Im tired of muddy, floppy crap subs that dont cut it for tightness at mid levels of volume or higher. Any subs (all manufactuers ok) that you recommend in around the $800 new or used price?

Anyone ever heard the first or second version of the paradigm 1200 sub???? Some say its boomy and muddy.

Well, in that price range the EP350v3 comes to mind, works great for music and movies.

If you're in the states look at the Hsu VTF 3 MK3 or eD A5 - 350. Once you include shipping the Hsu and the eD (shipping included) is about the same price.

I've heard very good things about Rythmik Audio subs, but have never heard them personally. These are kits and you gotta build em, though. If you search, I think other internet vendors offer them as complete units.

In any case, all the above suggestions are good! Like Rick (wid) recommended, the Hsu subs are fantastic. I own a VTF3 MkII and it's been a spectacular performer.

There are many good subs in your $$ range from HSU, SVS, Paradigm, Ed, Outlaw, ect and of course Axiom(Ep350). The world is yours.
