I was just curious if anyone had heard the x-statik open baffles from av123 and how they would compare to say the m80's(which i own ) I know they wouldn't have the slam that i love in my 80's but i have read they sound very "open". I take that to mean they would sound like being in a jazz hall..maybe less directional?? I am not in the market to replace my 80's i was just curious

I have not heard them, but there are measurements over at soundstageav.com. They have a slight hump in the midrange that would probably give them a slightly warmer sound. They also have measurably more distortion than the M80s. Not sure exactly how that would effect the sound.

That's baffling.
