Worst movie I've seen recently was Ghost Rider with Nicholas Cage. One of those movies you say to yourself, can I please have the last two hrs of my life back? right up there with Steven Seagal's movies.

I'm with you, Adrian. Pyew.

Nicholas Cage is not a favorite of mine. Moonstruck was good, and The Rock didn't suck, but other than that, I just don't want to watch him. Kevin Costner never really did any interesting acting after Bull Durham, either (I saw him recently in Rumor Has It).

Yeah, I liked him in Raising Arizona (speaking of the Coen brothers) way back, but he got really annoying when he decided he could be an action star. I actually did hate The Rock, but I know I'm in the minority on that one. Even though I find it hard to stomach him, I did like Adaptation a lot.

I liked parts of that enough that I didn't regret watching it, but yeah, I know where you're coming from. \:\)

Yeah, the Coen brothers are, IMHO, an acquired taste and I'm not sure I've acquired the taste yet. Hudsucker was, IMHO, one of their weaker efforts.

Every time I watch one of their movies, before it starts, I keep reminding myself that, in order to appreciate their surreal views (in order to "get it") a certain amount of brain tweaking is required.

Either here, or on another forum I frequent, someone recently expressed hatred for Burn After Reading. Since I "got my mind right" before I watched it, I actually enjoyed it (just watched it on TV a second time). Loved the over the top performances of Clooney, McDormand, and especially Pitt.

However, I completely understand someone hating the damned thing or any Coen movie. Attitude adjustment isn't for everone. It's kinda like accepting an alternate reality. Not easy and can be un-fun. I often fail at it.

Excellent analysis, Jack.

I actually quite liked Burn After Reading, Fargo, The Big Lebowski, No Country for Old Men, Raising Arizona, Intolerable Cruelty, and O Brother, Where Art Thou?

And I absolutely agree with you.

RyG Road Movie - Hanuman

"Rodrigo y Gabriela on the road in Europe Summer 2009. Featuring Hanuman from the new album 11:11."

My crush on Gabriela persists.
