Sony just announced that there'll be a 250 GB Slim PS3 available starting November 3rd. It's price will be $350.
That means they've finally caught up to my launch 60 GB which I upgraded to 250 GB after owning it for about 2 months. I've been looking for a 500 GB SSD to use in it now.

Netflix coming soon to Playstation 3.I repeat... Netflix coming to PS3.Additional: Reading up on it a little more, it is going to be a Blu-ray based service. Netflix is going to be releasing a BD-Live disc which you'll put in the PS3 and the BD-Java will play back the streaming video. Wonder if other non-Netflix enabled players will be fast enough to also support the disc. Oppo, I'm looking at you.

I like the Michelin Man decal. Also reminds me of the Staypuft Marshmallow Man from the Ghostbusters movies. Cool ride. I'm also excited about the PS3 Netflix news!

My experience with the PS3 has been quite the opposite. I've had my PS3 for 2 years and it's great. I use mine with a Harmony and the Harmony adapter for the PS3 so I have no integration issues. In terms of BD playback quality I have no doubt the Oppo is great, but I'm betting the PS3 is comparable if not better. Criterion uses a PS3 for their reference BD player and Joe Kane has claimed that the PS3 is simply the best BD output he has seen. http://www.soundandvisionmag.com/installations/2916/criterion-remastered.htmlhttp://news.cnet.com/8301-17938_105-10016208-1.htmlThe fact that it is a brute of compute power and software makes it extremely upgradeable too. Add to that the new lower price (you can get the new 120GB slim for $275 online) and it's a great deal as a BD player that happens to be a great gaming console too. :-)

Don't forget Criterion also uses an Axiom 80/500, so that's two arguments for their good taste in electronics.
