Am thinking of ordering some of the Neil Young archives on DVD. I don't have a Blue Ray player, so that option is out of the question.
But I was thinking I could play DVD's from my MacBook. (I also don't own a regular DVD player)

Would a DVD played from a computer likely still give the benefits that DVD offers sound-wise over CD?
I could get the CD's cheaper...but it IS offered on DVD, which supposedly is a step up, sound wise.

Or, would it depend on having some kind of higher quality DVD player?
thx!

It should work just fine--especially considering that the Macbook (at least the recent ones) have an optical out. You'll just need to get the adapter for it.
