Greetings,

I live in the Yukon so have no auditioning options. I have decided that I would really like to purchase the M60's because of the excellent reviews/reputation, it's Canadian and it seems to fit with my narrowed down purchase choices.

I am down to a NAD C355BEE/C545BEE set or a Cambridge Audio 650A/650C set.
Any opinions on my choices for these pairing options for these speakers?

My room is 20 x 13 and my tastes run the gamut ...and do like it loud occasionally. Am just getting back into 2-channel stereo after quite a period so any feedback would be greatly appreciated. The absence in auditioning options is one of the few drawbacks to living in this beautiful place.

Thanks in advance for your help with this!!!

Welcome,

For the most part, all of the Axiom speakers are very efficient and easy to drive. There really is no "pairing", as I'm not sure what you mean by this...They can be driven by the cheapest receivers, upto expensive seperates. Whether you would tell a difference is debatable.

Thanks sirquack,

I guess my terminology is a bit off and was wondering if one system or the other would compliment the M60's better.

Yukoner, there is an Axiomite in Whitehorse as a matter of fact...I'm not sure whereabouts you're located exactly, but maybe there's a possibility there. If I recall, he just bought earlier this year.

There's always alot of debate, both here and on most other audio forums as to what amps "sound" better or at least how much of a difference they make.

The M60s will make you happy...nice sound, nice price.

Half of communication is listening. You can't listen with your mouth.

Thanks Adrian!!
I appreciate the feedback .....am about an hour out of Whtehorse...not sure how I would track him down though.
I guess it was an unfair question ...have had NAD gear in the past and it served me well ...maybe it is the place to stay,
The answer that never seems to change is the satisfaction with theM60's.
I appreciate it!!

Yuke, welcome. Yes, there's no need to be concerned about matching or "pairing" amplification with the M60s. Nearly all modern receivers/separate amplifiers work well with the M60s and other speakers. There's no good reason to suspect that the sound quality you'll enjoy with the M60s would vary significantly because of your choice of amplification.

Thanks JohnK,
This all very helpful to me and really appreciate the fast responses!! (am anxious to get some tunes in the old cabin!!)
Will probably snag the NAD gear ...for what I was offered the price is better.
Maybe I am getting "too involved" in this decision ...it as just been so long since I bought any equipment ...felt out of the loop.
I appreciate your input....allot.

For the audition, you can contact Axiom and ask if they could contact an owner on your behalf.....
