HI; I just bought a pair of used M60's as well as a vp-150 trying to decide between a Denon 1910/(790 at future shop) a Pioneer 9040(equal to the entry level Elite 21 at future shop)wondering will either of these have enough power to drive the 60's? My room is about 2,000 cubic feet, not using a sub at the moment so for about 6 months(until $$$ are available to buy a sub)will I be ok at fairly loud volumes say -18 or so? Thanks for the help.

P.S I'm going to try and get them to bundle the receiver with a PS-3 and reduce the total package by say 25%. I'll report how it goes in anyone here is interested.

Either receiver will work very well with the M60 as they pose no special load like the 4 ohm M80's. Chose which ever they will give you the deal with or which has the special features you want. Denon's use of Audyssey puts it to the forefront in my mind.

Darth, you should also check out your closest Audio Video Unlimited since they carry both Denon and Pioneer lines. They will dicker on their pricing even when it's already on sale from my own experience at my local AVU.

The m60's only require a few watts to play very loud, check the specs. My room is 8,000 cu ft and the Denon 3808 is just fine.

Just picked up a Pioneer vsx-23 (elite) it has "MCACC" room calibration which is awesome! Similar to audyssey

Completely agree with AVU, they are CHEAP on Denon. I have a hookup at a local store and I got the 2310 for 25% less than the flyer sale price which was already cheaper than BB or FS. Definately look them up.

Actually MCACC is not similar to Audyssey, maybe for the basic settings only...

Do you know the differences between them? I am curious as MCACC is so far the only one I never used in installations (given that I am about to be able to try Anthem's ARC hopefylly soon). Thanks in advance.

Darth, either of those receivers should have plenty of maximum power capacity for sensible sound levels. Choose on the basis of features and price. A factor in favor of the Denon is that the Audyssey room correction system is widely considered to be a bit more advanced than the MCACC on the Pioneer.

Dakmart in general doesn't have a very high customer satisfaction rating. However, I assume that you're considering them for a Denon factory refurb(they're an authorized dealer), and it appears that they handle that area well, possibly because of fear of losing the Denon business.
