Left 4 Dead 2. I own the first for the Xbox 360, but I never played it much. Instead, I watched my nephew play when he was over. Now I have the sequel for the PC. It's pretty fun so far. I bought the disc-based version, but I'm glad to see it integrates with Steam. I have to hand it to Valve; Steam is probably the best thing about PC gaming right now.

Is the single player any good? I know it's totally aimed towards multiplayer co-op, but I'm antisocial.

I'm with you on the anti-social thing. Single-player is all right so far, though I was definitely doing more than the computer-controlled players. They maintained their health, better, though.

Oops, I don't know how that extra comma got in there. My brain health must have been low.

Awesome!

Driving games are my favorite. Can't wait for GT5.

Finally finished Bioshock. Most of you have who care to have probably already played it but I figured I’d offer up some impression just in case. This is a great game for someone wanting an introduction to first person shooters. The controls are simple and changing weapons or attacks pauses the game so you have time to think about the best move so it’s not just a twitch-fest. For many things there are more than one solution for the ones that are linier there are usually hints.

Best thing about the game is the atmosphere. The visuals and the music are both great and creepy. Directional effect are mostly good but sometime I could hear someone talking like they were right next to me but actually one floor up or down but it wasn’t obvious the other floor was there. This happened when I killed one Big Daddy and could hear the little sister crying but couldn’t figure out where she was. I finally gave up and figured I’d just finish the lever since I’d already picked up a couple of extra ones (glitch). On the way out I found her on the level below were I killed the protector.

This is one of the first games I’ve had that actually puts out a lot of bass below 40Hz. The Buttkicker was going like crazy when the Big Daddy’s were walking nearby.

Dolby PLIIz worked fantastic. It completely filled the room with sound effects making the game come much more alive than when it was off. As I mentioned in another thread the Audyssey DSX wide were a no go because when panning either the L/H or R/H and it’s corresponding wide would put out the same audio causing a noticeable rise in SPL with noticeable dropp-offs passing center and again when moving back. This was both distracting and annoying as it covered up directional queues.

Bioshock was certainly one of the most entertaining and satisfying games I've played. Excellent concept and gameplay. I believe Bioshock 2 comes out in February.

Coincidentally, I picked it up for 20$ on the weekend so I can finish it. It might become the second console game I actually complete. Normally I get bored or they sit so long I'm compelled to start over.

I still can't put down Orbital Drop Shock Troopers aka ODST. Great game!
