Not.

Deerfield Beach huh? Come back in August and September and tell everybody back home how well you're enjoying the beautiful weather down here ... you'll only have a couple of more months of it left after that. \:D

Weather is odd on Islands. I took yesterday afternoon off to go pick up my new truck. It was snowing here in PEI with drifting, icy roads, etc. We crossed the Confederation bridge and just in that 8 miles, the weather turned almost sunny and the hour long drive in New Brunswick was like summer road traveling all the way.

Later that night we returned back to PEI and as soon as we crossed the bridge, we were in high winds, icy roads and near white out conditions again. Nothing compared to your blizzard of course but our isolated weather systems always amuse me.

We get that type of weather out here. On Monday I was able to see the wall of change in front of me when I was driving back from my parents which is north of Red Deer. The temperature was -19C on one side of the wall and once I passed through it the mirrors on the car fogged up and the interior of the car suddenly became warm and humid. I thought the heater core had blown up. I looked at the temperature reading, it had gone up to -2 in an instant, very interesting to see.

Murph, it's just over a mile from the mainland to the island where we live and on our cold mornings there is typically a 12-15* temperature difference from the island to the mainland ... I've always been intrigued at just how fast the temperature drops upon reaching the mainland from the island. We're not talking *your* kind of cold weather though, our coldest mornings will be in the lower 40s or maybe skirt the upper 30s on occasion.

YAHOOOO! It is snowing here right now. I know this is foreign to you foreign Canadian guys (or anyone north of the Mason-Dixon line) but the minute it starts snowing here in Piedmont North Carolina, everything stops. That means I can leave work early. The grocery stores sold out of bread, eggs, milk and beer last night.

We have a Mexican fella that works with us who lived in North Carolina at one time, cracks me up every time I hear him say "Norte Caroleenia".

After the monsoons quit we're supposed to get some cooler weather for the weekend, forecast are in the mid->upper 40s for the lows ... seems like I saw something like a high of 68 or so for Monday or Tuesday, s'bout time!

I just got down in September...it got really hot at times. Last summer I interned down in Florida, same spot. Summers were pretty hot!

Yup. Vero Beach isn't that far, hmm. Nice to know an axiomite also is down in FL.

And today in chicagoland "we" just had 3-4 inches of snow. Had to shovel it. Actually enjoyed it. Mostly because I knew there was some Bells Best Brown Ale waiting for me inside :-)
