Just finished watching the Blu-ray of The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian (2008). I have to go against the majority of critics and say I liked this sequel better than the first. The story just seemed to flow better. In part I think it’s because it gets off to a quicker start but also seem better edited. Hard to believe they were both made by the same director.

Like the first the video quality good. There were several periods with dark largely single colour scenes but the other scenes looked really natural. I also thought the audio was slightly better on this one.

Neither of these movies captivates me like the LOTR but then they didn’t make me ever think about the fast forward button either.

I thought just the opposite. I loved the 1st movie (especially where Lucy first gets to Narnia). But the second movie was a let down. Probably because I bought the Chronicles to Narnia book and read all of the stories a couple of times first. The magical scenes in the book for Caspian didn't get translated that way in the movie, such as when the door to the underground treasure room gets discovered. In the book, there was a lot of buildup and suspense to it. In the movie, it was like, oops, here's a door.

Yours seems to be similar to most other peoples opinion especially those who read the books. In a way I’m lucky that it’s hard for me to read because I’ve skipped a lot of things I would otherwise have read that are eventually turned into movies. It’s easier to like a movie when I don’t have a preconceptions about it.

Looks like the third one is coming out, already have it in my Netflix Queue.

Great! I was wondering when that was coming out. I wonder how they have managed to mess it up. \:\)

I watched the 'Stray Cats Rumble in Brixton' last evening on HDNet and was so impressed with the show that I ordered the DVD from CD Universe. Great stuff for those of you who like the Stray Cats.

I caught most all of it Ed, missed the first 10 or 15 minutes or so. The disc isn't available in Blu-Ray but I didn't read any negative reviews on Amazon or CD Universe regarding video or audio, apparently that show was done in '04 ... those guys were rockin'!

I wondered what year it was from. Love the bass player pulling on them strings. The hairdo's were great! Definitely brings back some memories. \:\)
