Here's an interesting complaint made on a free newsletter I get, called "Alliance News & Info" from ChangeWave Alliance [alliance@changewave.com].

(1) Problems with DIRECTV

WIL02577 writes, "With Comcast (CMCSA) getting too expensive, I decided to try DIRECTV (DTV). After a very poor installation, the installer gave me the paperwork to sign. When I saw the fine print, I noticed it included a bunch of hidden charges – so I refused the service. In turn, DIRECTV is charging me a huge cancellation fee even though I never signed a contract. I've sent them a couple letters, but they will not budge. They say I am still obligated for 2 years of service even though I refused the service."

That's too bad. I've always had really very good customer service from them.
