Did you notice that you can now pre-order what ever you want from the Factory Outlet?

When I was still "shopping", they told me via email, I could preorder from the outlet, they would bill my credit card now, then would ship in about 5 weeks. I don't know if I could wait that long for just a 10% discount.

Yeah...depending on the models the wait time is between 2 and 6 weeks.
Though if you're buying an entire HT package, 10% adds up!

You are absolutely right. It could of saved me about $160. I just don't have the patience, once my mind was made up what to get. I am going crazy now, just waiting a few days!!

I'm a cheap S.O.B. I'll wait a month if it'll save me $50.

Heh, I'm the exact opposite. I'd rather pay the $160 and get it now than wait a month. Money you can always get back, time you can't.

See what we faced - 50% of people were willing to wait, 50% of people wouldn't! This seemed like the perfect compromise. New concept - so if anything is unclear or if you have any suggestions, I'd love to hear them!

Pity I want a custom finish... but, boy, that's tempting.

This is a great idea Amie. I was just coming in here to post in case anyone didn't realize you can now pre-order. Of course with most here (myself included) being the obsessed fanatics that we are, I was beaten to the punch.
Great idea although it does kind of take away the excitement of browsing to the special deals and realizing something you want is suddenly available! Which is inevitably followed by the realization that you still can't afford it
Thanks for the improved customer service.

why exactly was this implemented? How do you know in advance 6 weeks down the road a certain speaker is going to have a defect? Or is it that you put these imperfect speakers aside and plan on finishing them later?

im sure you have to assume that when they do a run of speakers theres sure to be a few that wont pass the test, im not sure how many they make per run but it could be upwards of 50 pairs. theres bound to be a few imperfections!
if not ian will just have someone leave some polyfill fibres sticking out of the driver hole. lol.

They probably have an idea of how many they get based on past returns and also have some set aside that they do whatever they do to before they send them out again.

I'm new to Axiom and after much research pre-ordered from the Outlet on December 23rd 2003. I received an email from Axiom yesterday, December 30th, 2003 that my entire order has shipped. I ordered the M60's, QS8's, and the QS8 Stands.

Well, received the M60's and QS-8s Friday. That was only 8 days after pre-ordering from the Outlet. Just unpacked them yesterday and could not find any blemish on one of the M60's and a tiny, tiny discoloration on the back of the the other M60. I will unpack the QS-8s today.
Does anyone know of a reliable etailer for the Yamaha RX V1400? I have researched receivers and that's the one I'm going with to replace my 10 year old Onkyo.

I bought my Yamaha 1400 from Etronics.com for $588 and was VERY happy with the purchase. I went back to buy a Denon DVD-2200 from them.

Is this an internal comment on the QA/QC process by Axiom?

Harleyguy,
What color did you get?
The reason for asking is that I was put on the waiting list for Boston Cherry M60's on December 9th. I just got back from Xmas vacation and now notice a whole page set up with speaker types, colors, expected wait times and pre-ordering.
They never asked for credit card info when I was put on the waiting list on Dec. 9th...I think. I'm not sure if I'm still waiting because:
1)An Axiom email was deleted while I was gone.
2)If I now have to preorder again.
3)It's because of the color choice.
Thanks Rob

Problem because of the color choice. Boston Cherry is very popular. I'd send Amie an email to check though.

Rob,
I pre-ordered the Mansfield Beech color. Axiom did take my credit card # when I placed the pre-order. It took 8 days from the time I placed the pre-order until I had the speakers in my living room. Hope this helps.

Thanks,
I guess I should give Axiom a call. I was originally thinking of getting the Boston Cherry or Mansfield Beech...and went with the Cherry. However, if the Mansfield Beech is that much quicker I may change my mind.

I just called Etronics to inquire if the Yammi 1400 was in stock. Salesman said yes. I asked if the unit had the DPL IIx feature and he told me no, they hadn't received the updated units yet. I thought I read somewhere on this message board that someone recently purchased a 1400 from Etronics and it did support DPL IIx. Did you happen to see that post?

If you're talking about the RXV-1400, I have it and it does have a IIx mode (although the THX mode sounds SO much better the rest).
FYI you're getting a great box for the price. Be careful though - I had to send two back for component video issues before I got one that worked correctly.

I got the 1400 from Etronics a few weeks ago and it does have DPL llx. (I posted that when I got it) When I called before that they told me they were unsure, (I took a chance) So the fella you talked to obviously doesn't know what he is talking about. I have had no probs with mine. I love it.

Well, I guess I'll take the plung. I've been holding off for more than a week now. I've got my Axioms and I want to hook them up to a receiver that will allow them to show their stuff! Thanks for the info.

The 1400 I got from Etronics has IIx. You might check again, I think the guy you talked to is mistaken.
