While moving my speakers around today i discovered that on the bottom rear corner of one of my speakers the venner is peeling. It has peeled about 1/8 inch or so, (am i picky ur what!)

What do you suggest i use to glue the corners back together and keep it from getting any worse? Super glue could get messy, and melt the venner, using contact glue like i believe is whats used would be kina pointless with such a small area. Small peice of clear tape would do it.. but look bad. Any Ideas?

On another note, tomorrow i'll be moving the entire room back to the way it was before.. lol. i have it on my long wall now, and it sounds more detailed, probbly because not as much side wall reflections.. but with space constraints.. or door openenings i should say, i cant have them nearly as far apart as they need to be, or away from the wall as far.

Vinyl gluing is like putting down flooring, same idea, but a bit more dexterity may be required.

i know its been like that for a while but it was brought to my attention again today. Its hardly even big enough to glue so i will probbly just leave it the way it is, but if it gets any bigger (shouldnt if i dont touch it) i will try something. Most people probbly woundt even notice it, or think anything of it, except i baby my speakers and when i see something like that i get worried about it lol

Yeah, that would bug me, too. Anyone else have this issue? (Yes, I'll still buy Axioms, but I probably wouldn't go with the custom finish in that case.)

Id say its not a problem with axioms finishing job, which is quite excellent. Just something that happens. especially with such a sharp corner on the floor like that. I also got the B stock spekers so that might have been one of the blemishes. at any rate maybe i will take a pic of it tomorrow so you can see how small it is.

If it was a FO deal, then it is very possible that was the flaw.
I've only found one flaw so far out of the 3 speakers we purchased through the FO.
It was extremely minor.

it is more of a moist climate then most places i guess but theres not like mold growing on stuff or anything. Upon closer inspection it looks more like the edges are peeling the veneer in half rather then off of the cabinet. Its soo small that the only way id be able to glue it is to put some glue on a toothpick or needle or something. Heres a couple of pics. I might just use a uber small amount of super glue and dab it on there just to keep it from getting bigger, no need to bother joe over something like this.

It looked to me like the corner was bumped at some point, slightly damaging the mdf and causing the vinyl to loose the structure it was bonded to. Particle type wood composites are very susceptible to moisture absorbtion and swelling which will cause further delamination. In your climate I would look at using a thin forulation of superglue applied very carefully to the mdf to seal and consolidate it. After first letting the superglue cure in the mdf, I would try regluing the vinyl with superglue. I would try using masking tape applied over the vinyl area you are trying to adhere so that the tape acts as kind of a "handle" to pull and hold the veneer into place without gluing my fingers to the vinyl. The tape would also help keep the glue off the face of the vinyl. To remove the tape I would peel it off starting from an edge farthest away from the repair and peel the tape off by pulling it back so it is folded over flat against the surface it is being peeled from. By pulling parallel to the surface rather than perpendicular you will avoud pulling the the veneer away from the suface it is glued to.
