It's more like a 350 Watt Class AB amp will pull 500 Watts from the wall, and turn 30% of it to heat. Where a 350 Watt Class D will pull 390 from the wall, losing only 10% to heat. Of course everything, even sound energy, eventually ends up as heat. But class D is prolonging the heat death of the universe slightly.
