From the sweet spot in our 7.1 room the QS8s are placed 7' for the side surrounds and 9' for the rears and we've never felt like these speakers were ever inadequate for the room, matter of fact for proper room calibration the rear surrounds are set at -2Db while the side are calibrated at -0Db. I had thought about connecting our M60s as rear surrounds but in all honesty I just don't know that they'll be any better so I never bothered.

These QS8 speakers are very impressive little jewels.

C'mon Rick enquiring minds want to know, hook up those M60s as rear channels, then sides and finally one as a center \:\)

Yahh, C'mon Rick! flip those M60s over and put them on top of your M80s!!

I don't know about stacking them on the 80s Adrian but I did try an M60 as a center, excellent audio but it was difficult to watch the TV with that floorstanding M60 sticking in front of the screen \:\) ... what I didn't do and what just did come to mind though is placing an M60 back as a single center and maybe playing a few hours of surround music, I may very well do that.

I'm now using a VP100 on top of our 73" screen and a VP150 below the screen which works perfectly fine and plants the dialog onto the center of the screen for TV and movie viewing but for surround music (usually DDPLxII or Logic7 7ch Music) it almost seems like the center audio is a little higher than the mains (probably because while listening to music I'm usually in and out of the room and not sitting my big arse on the couch) ... that's where, I bet, the single 60 will absolutely shine.

Jay I'm thinking one reason why the Q8s are maybe fitting the bill like green on grass for us is that our room dimensions are probably close to ideal (rectangular 25'x14') and the location of the QS8s to the seating within the room is most likely where they really show their wares and I really just haven't had any hints whatsoever of needing anything better, they are truly very amazing speakers and I just couldn't imagine anything else doing a more perfect role.

But you will never really know until you try.......

Single 60 upfront and one for the rear channel one more experiment for you to try out \:\) You can always build a stage for the TV to sit on \:\)

Man, you are too tough Jay. OK, I'll try one or two of the 60s in the back and see how they stack up with the QS8s ... but I'm drawing the line at the 600 though, no way am I going to resort myself to monkey humpin' that heavy beast around the room. \:\)

I did place a 60 up front and have been listening to multi-channel music for a good part of the day and it is most definitely getting the job done, the 80s along with a 60 as a center makes for a really sweet and seamless soundstage.

No, the EP600 has the wrong port for monkey humping.

I've been trying to get my wife to allow me to put an M60/M80 as a center in the new house but she is having none of it. the best I am gong to do is one of my M22s or the usual VP series, maybe even dual like you are running, VP150 and VP100.

I don't believe you can't go wrong with the 100/150 combo Jay, they really do make for a great combination.

Ken the next time the 600 gets moved around by me it's going be with the use of the dolly we have out in the garage ... love the sub, hate moving the thing.

I tried the Vp100/150 combo before and it did sound pretty good. I think I liked the M22 better, it has a smoother SQ than the VP series, IMO. But in the new home I may not even like any of my speakers any more so who knows
