Doctor Who: Planet of the Dead

This is one of the 2009 specials. Not the greatest story, but some fantastic one-liners and toss-offs. Highly recommended (well, if you're a Who fan), even though the music at the end is pretty cheesy.

I'm up to season six of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Overall, I'm enjoying the series. I still have trouble fully embracing it. There are still parts that annoy me, but it's keeping my interest, and I can understand why people like it. There are some genuinely creative ideas and twists, but it seems like there's always some other way that it drops the ball. Anyway, I'm still glad I've been watching it.

I noticed the first couple episodes of seasons 4 of Friday Night Lights were up for download on Zune Marketplace, and I couldn't resist. It's going to be torture waiting for the rest of the episodes.

DirecTV channel 101 has a 1-hour excerpt from the Rush "Snakes and Arrows" tour. Great production, amazing performances. Just. Freaking. Awesome.

Just got done watching “Nim’s Island” on Blu-ray. Basically a very average movie geared toward kids but acceptable enough for grownups who aren’t to jaded.

Where this movie shines is in it’s video quality. This ranks up with the best quality video I have ever seen. There is just nothing it doesn’t do right from a video standpoint. An added bonus is that the audio quality isn’t to shabby either. In both cases the movie isn’t something that creates a new world experience like “Avatar” but it relates a real world experience as good as an other movie available. If you’ve ever been on a Pacific island you will feel right at home watching this movie.

The story is very average with nothing too exciting or challenging but the overall presentation moves along quite briskly and before you know it the story though quite predictable is over w/o any wasted time.

Please tell me you had a kid over and that's why you were watching it.

On second, thought, I hope you didn't have a kid over.

I’m holding off on “Zenon: Girl of the 21st Century” for Sean’s next visit.
