Well womanet (budget) will not allow for two EP350 unless I change the main speakers I would like to get. I know that two identical subs would be best but there is nothing wrong with the infinity and I am sure I could integreat it into the room with the EP350.

Does anyone know what CuFt the EP350 can displace by itself?
Sloped I did read the post you likned and thanks, but I am only looking to get one new sub. I guy can only dream so much.

Later
Phil

Phil, there's really no precise "room-filling" capacity spec available for speakers, including subs, and the important point is if it's loud enough at your listening position.

Give it a go with the two different sizes. You never know what will or will not work out until you give it a go.

I have two different size subs in my setup, and was lucky that they worked out. Not ideal, and not easy to integrate, but with some luck, not impossible.

I had a problem with a null around 35hz with my one sub setup that I could not get rid of. In a 'what the heck' moment, I hooked up my old sub, put it back in its old position, and two weeks of tweaking later, I greatly reduced the null.

Phil, when I did my sub comparisons I was at mojo's and his basement is ~4000cf(IIRC) and the EP350 worked just fine there.

Hi All,

I noticed yesterday reading the manual of my Marantz Receiver that they have a feature where some of the LFE output is sent to the front speakers as well as the Sub to give a more even Bass in the room.

They call it SW Plus+.

madjak my yamaha does this as well youcan either set your main speakers to small and have the bass go thew threw the sub or have it set to both by changing the main size to large. I am not sure if it gives more bass but just directs it to the sub and the mains. For me this would be fine if my fronts went wodn to say 35-40Hz, but they don't.

Thanks
Phil

Jak, that isn't what that "+" setting actually does. The LFE(i.e., low frequency effects occasionally present during movies)are played by the sub alone. If the M22s are set to play full range(probably not a good idea), then the "+" setting for the sub has it duplicating the low bass from the regular main channels, along with the main speakers. Probably you'll get better results by using the regular bass management, i.e., having the sub play the lowest bass while taking that burden off the M22s so that they can play the higher frequencies a bit more cleanly.
