good luck!

btw, Can I ask why you didn't go with the M22 inwalls?
They were not available when I got the w22's, and ironically seem to have large cabinet volume - i.e closer to the bookshelve's optimal design...

For me, when I first started looking at Axiom, (I don't recall seeing the inwalls, they were probably there) But liked the idea of the fronts center and QSs matching

i had a bit of trouble getting my W3s to drop down too as the back box was *just* touching the other side of the wall. I took to the bracket with some small side-cutters and *slightly* (2-3mm) rounded the bottom corner of the slots that the 'rails' on the speaker drop behind. This let them drop down a bit easier.

The plastic nuts in the w3 brackets also split, but Axiom sent me some new ones, and I put 'speednuts' on the back for good measure.

Great idea, Thanks

I had one that would not really slide down much. I had to trim about 1/32" off the little tabs on the side of the black part that sits in the wall, these are what mesh with the bracket and "lock" it in place. Went in fine after that.

... My wires are coming from below, if they were slipping behind the w22s as I slide them in would that hold them out enough that they wouldn't "lock".

Jeff,

The portion of the speaker enclosure which sinks into the wall cavity is quite deep at 3.4" and the presence of the wires behind can certainly explain why your W22 will not slide down in place.

The other two factors which can interfere are:
- A slight bend in the wall surface; it needs to be perfectly flat
- The screws holding the metal frame in place are too tight.

Please, never hesitate jumping on that phone and dialling Axiom's toll free number 1.866.244.8796 for assistance.

I thought about the screws and tight, I always over do, I recalled after my post, cut the holes before I fished the wires and they wouldn't lock so not that, Could be the wall, it is drywall, framing and well construction! I'll try some adjustments.

Thanks

Jeff

i had to do a lot of jiggery with duct tape to keep the wires from falling down behind the speaker as i slid it in \:\(

In these cases it would have been a lot easier if the terminations were at the bottom corner rather than the top
