I will be ordering a pair of M22s in a couple weeks. These will be the first addition to my Axiom list.

I am looking for a pair of speaker stand to go with these speakers. The Axiom stands for these look awesome but are more than what I would like to buy for stands. How do people who own these stands like them, by the way.

Can anyone suggest a good pair of stand and what height I should be looking into. I will consider the Axiom stands if you all think it is worth the price.

Speakers: Energy RC-70s, RC-LCR, RC-Rs and eD A2-300 x 2.

I don't have any recommendations for a particular stand, but as for height, you should be shooting to have the tweeters at ear-level when seated. Being that the M22s are 19.8" tall, and the center of the tweeter is about 3" from the top. So measure how far your ears are from the floor when sitting in your preferred location, and subtract 17" from that to get the hight of the stand which would be the best fit. If there is a stand you like, and the hight isn't exactly right, go for slightly tall over slightly short.

Are these speakers going to be used in connection with any sort of display? That's another factor to take in account. You may want to try to get the tweeters aligned with a mid-line of the display as long as it doesn't put them too far out of level with your ears.

I will be setting these speakers up as a two channel system with watching blu-rays and listening to music at first. Will be hooking up these speakers to an Onkyo 606 and a PS3 Slim.

After a bit of thought I am seriously considering the FMS 16 speaker stands. Looking for advice from people with experience with these stands. I also hear Sanus makes some good metal stands I will be looking into.

Oh, the TV is a Samsung LN46B750.

I have a Sanus TV stand/equipment rack. I really like it, but it's cost makes the FMS look inexpensive.

You can sort of see it in these two pics:

They build good quality stuff, but as I said it isn't cheap. You may want to go with the Axiom stands if the price isn't that different, because the Axiom stuff will fit the speakers exactly. Axiom also builds stands in custom heights for only a bit more than the pre-sized ones.

My M22's have been on a set of FMS16's since day one. So that's like 6 years now. I am happy with the stands. They look good and do what they're supposed to do. And I know that they were designed to handle the weight of M22's, so I don't worry about over-stressing them.

The only nitpick I can come up with is that about once a year on each stand, I have to re-tighten the main nut that keeps the whole stand solid. They work loose over the changing of the seasons (I have a very dry house in the winter...) and the stands can start to wobble a little bit. It takes all of 5 minutes to do both. If I was smart I'd just dab a little loc-tite on each nut and the problem would likely be permanently solved.

Good luck, and enjoy the M22's. They're great speakers. Quite possibly the greatest bang-for-the-buck of all the speakers Axiom makes.

So I have been struggling with myself all of yesterday and today to talk myself out of purchasing these speakers for a while, and for a second, I almost told myself no! Well I took the opportunity of being inebriated and threw caution to the wind and bit the bullet and bought a pair of M22s in Boston Cherry and a pair of FSM16s.

I am feeling the sting of the purchase but I am looking forward to receiving these speakers. I have very high expectations of these speakers given all the rave reviews on this forum and many other sources. I am currently using a pair of Polk monitor 60s and I hope the M22s will blow these out the water.

Patiently waiting.

Talk yourself OUT of buying them? I'm afraid this is an affliction I'm not familiar with.

Peter, another trick you can try besides Loctite, to keep the screws tight, is to put a string of fishing line in the thread before tightening.

I have my M22's on stands that cost more than the speakers themselves! They were originally for Genelec's (studio monitors). Way overkill at 80 lbs a piece too, but you cannot knock them over. And with the spike anchors attached they are hell to move/adjust.

As ClubNeon said, the Sanus stuff is a really good option.

I might just try out the Axiom stands myself though.

You are going to love your M22's btw. Enjoy!
