Thought I would post Cypress Hill's new song with Tom Morello on the guitar. If you're not a fan of Cyprus Hill, I'm sure you'll at least be impressed with Tom Morrello's guitar work.

Rise Up!

Cool. I hadn't realized they went this route.

I've seen them once in concert, Smokin' Blues Tour (of course). Wow, talk about contact high.

That would have been an amazing concert. They have the official video for the album on youtube also, it's another great song.

One of the best. Cypress Hill were one of the headliners, so was George Clinton and PFunk All Stars. However, by this point, they were just a bunch of homeless people on stage jamming incoherently.

The better groups were the Fugees before Lauryn Hill wigged out, fantastic singing voice. The Roots with Cut Chemist and Jurassic 5 were the best of the bunch. The Roots is definitely one of the best live bands I've ever heard. Those guys have soul.

Morello is an amazing guitarist. Thanks for posting. I'll need to check that song out.

I missed out on tix for the free RATM concert in England this summer (I had heard it might happen, but missed the announcement). I'm thinking of trying to get over there for one of their other shows, perhaps the Download Festival. She Who Must Be Obeyed seems open to the idea, though I'd love it if they'd do a few shows in the States so I don't need to travel so far.

Do you like Boots Riley? Tom Morello and him have their own group called Street Sweeper Social Club. There are some great videos on youtube, playing at various venues. I saw Tom (The Nightwatchman) perform in Toronto a couple years ago, and it was a great intimate show. I was right up at the stage, literally two feet from him, waving my Che Guevara wall flag proudly; he looked at me once and gave me a smile.

I would do anything to see Rage play again. It was the best concert I've never been to, bar none.

I am not familiar with Boots Riley. I was just thinking this morning how I need some new music, though, so I will check out Street Sweeper Social Club. Thanks for the recommendation.

I am envious that you've seen Rage in the past. I only got into their music in the last few years--part of my midlife crisis, I think--so I've never seen them. (At this point in my life, the three groups I really wish I could have seen in or near their primes are RATM, GnR , and Pink Floyd).

I actually like Audioslave better than Rage. I'm not a big fan of rap/rock, and I really like Chris Cornell's vocals.

I dig Audioslave too (though not as much as RATM). In fact, I'm listening to Out of Exile at this very moment--an excellent album. I'm not as big on Chris Cornell as a lot of other people, but I like him well enough.

Yeah Ken, Audioslave was a great group. Chris Cornell with Tom, Tim and Brad from Rage. If you're interested, there is a "Live in Cuba" concert DVD (I own it). They're the first American band to play in Cuba.
